Obituary for Clinton A. Eliason

Clinton A.  Eliason
Clinton A. Eliason, of Enfield, entered peacefully into eternal life at the age of 92 on Wednesday (February 1, 2012) in the comfort of his home with loved ones by his side. Clinton was predeceased by his beloved wife, Mary Patricia (Wadleigh) Eliason, of 41 years in 1988. He was born on October 10, 1919 in Maine, son of the late Reinard J. and Mabel A. (Cloutier) Eliason and had resided in Enfield for the 54 years. Growing up in Maine he attended local schools and was a graduate of Portland High School.
Clinton then went on to serve his country honorably with the U.S. Army during WW II, having been stationed in the South Pacific, Hawaii, Philippines and Okinawa. Prior to retiring as a supervisor in 1982 Clinton was employed by Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, Inc. for 25 years. In his leisure time he enjoyed big band era music, golfing and was an avid UCONN Huskies Women’s Basketball fan.
He is survived by his beloved children; Carole Wormell & her husband Leroy of Westbrook, ME, Raymond Eliason of Cape Coral, FL, Andrea Sweeney of Manchester, CT and Pamela Story & her husband Donald of Enfield, his twelve beloved grandchildren and five great grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents and wife he was predeceased by a son Richard Eliason and two sisters; Phyllis Hersey and Emilda O’Brien. The family would like to especially thank the staff of VNA Healthcare Hospice for the compassionate and kind care given to Clinton.
Relatives and friends may gather with his family during calling hours on Sunday (February 5, 2012) from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield. Funeral services will be held on Monday (Feb, 6, 2012) at 10:30 a.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels with Fr. Dan McElheron officiating. Interment will follow with military honors in St. Patrick’s King St. Cemetery in Enfield. Memorial donations in Clinton’s memory may be made to the VNA Healthcare Hospice 103 Woodland St. Hartford CT 06105.
