Obituary for Joan Marie Jordan (Michaud)

Joan Marie  Jordan (Michaud)
Joan Marie (Michaud) Jordan, of Enfield, entered peacefully into eternal life at the age of 79 on Friday (Feb. 24, 2012) in the comfort of her home. Joan was the beloved wife of 56 years to Ralph E. Jordan and daughter of the late Joseph and Yvonne (Daigle) Michaud. She was born on March 19, 1932 in Fort Kent, Maine and had resided in Enfield for 56 years. A devout Catholic, Joan was a parishioner of St. Patrick’s Church and was very active in Share the Word, the Carmelites, Padre Pio Prayer Group, Eucharistic Ministry along with various other ministries and committees. In her leisure time she enjoyed reading many religious books, crocheting, knitting, sewing, making rosaries and decorating wedding cakes. Joan held various jobs over the years, but her greatest joy in life was taking care of her family as a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Along with her husband Ralph, Joan is survived by her loving children; Michael Jordan and wife Germaine of W. Milford, NJ, Sandra Coughlin and husband John of Emmitsburg, MD and James Jordan of Enfield, her 16 beloved grandchildren; Kathleen, Therese, Maria, Elizabeth, Clare & Stephen Jordan, Stephanie, John, Kevin, Aileen, Gabrielle, Hannah, Liam, Catriona, Kolbe and Therese Coughlin and 7 great-grandchildren. She also is survived by a brother; Phillip J. Michaud of Enfield and a sister; Rita R. Wecker of New Leonx, IL and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Joan was predeceased by her siblings; Marc, Jean-Gilbert, Louis and Jean Michaud and Candide Duperry, Mauberte Thivierge and Bibianna Malloy.
Relatives and friends may gather with Joan’s family during calling hours on Wednesday (Feb. 29, 2012) from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield. The funeral procession will form at 10:30 a.m. on Thurs. (March 1, 2012) at the funeral home to St. Patrick Church for a 11:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts Memorial Veterans’ Cemetery, Agawam, MA. Memorial donations in Joan’s memory may be made to St. Patrick Church, 64 Pearl Street Enfield, CT 06082.
