Obituary for Tommaso Zacchia

Tommaso  Zacchia
Tommaso Zacchia, 76 of Enfield, loving husband of Maria L. (Sabino) Zacchia, entered into eternal rest, Saturday, June 8, 2013. Born December 13, 1936 in Treglia, Italy he was the son of the late Vincenzo and Maria (Carusone) Zacchia. At the age of 17 Tommaso moved to Montreal, Canada where he met the love of his life, Maria Sabino. They married in 1959 and Maria was everything every wife should be, best friend, partner and loving mother. In 1962 he moved his family to Southington to be closer to family, and then settled in Enfield about 10 years ago. Prior to his retirement Tommaso was employed for over 20 years as a set up machinist with General Electric. He was a communicant of St. Adalbert Church and a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Society.
Besides his wife Maria, Tommaso is survived by his children, Josie Morrison and her husband John of Suffield, Vincent Zacchia and his wife Kim of Lakeland, FL and Angelo Zacchia and his wife Maria of Suffield; 6 grandchildren, April Morrison and fiancé Mike Trombly of Suffield, Sean Morrison of Suffield, Tommaso Zacchia and Isabella Zacchia of Lakeland and Olivia Zacchia and Sofia Zacchia of Suffield. He also leaves his siblings, Rosa Izzo, Giuseppe Zacchia, Guarino Zacchia and his wife Angelina all of Southington; nephews and nieces, Franco and Marilyn Izzo, Vincenzo and Virginia Zacchia, Mario and Theresa Izzo, Maria and Robert Gagnon, all of Southington; many great nieces and nephews and his “second family” at Enfield Dialysis Center.
Family and friends may gather at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Road, Enfield at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, June 12, for a procession to St. Adalbert Church, 90 Alden Avenue, Enfield where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. followed by burial at St. Patrick King Street Cemetery, Enfield. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, June 11, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, Enfield. Donations in Tommaso’s memory may be made to St. Adalbert Church, 90 Alden Avenue, Enfield, CT 06082.
