Anne (Zawadski) Fitzgerald, 89, of Enfield, beloved wife of the late Robert F. Fitzgerald, Sr., entered into eternal rest, Sunday Sept. 21, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital surrounded by her family. Born in Hartford on Jan. 3, 1925, daughter of the late John and Mary (Ruffino) Zawadski she resided in Enfield for many years. Prior to retiring in 1990, she was employed with the Enfield Board of Education for 20 years as Mgr. of Food Services at Enfield High School. A great cook, Ann enjoyed entertaining family and friends at her home. She loved time spent watching “her” cooking shows and with friends at the Enfield Senior Center playing cards and dominos. Ann is survived by her children, Diane Neild and husband Allan, of Enfield, Maureen Fitzgerald of Windsor and Robert F. Fitzgerald, Jr. of Enfield; grandchildren, Kelly and Brian Raulukaitis, John and Anna Neild, Brian Fitzgerald, Anne Dedonis, Katie and Josh Dickson, Meghan Fitzgerald, Colleen Fitzgerald and partner Daniel Huckin and Kerrie Fitzgerald along with 14 great grandchildren. She also leaves her brother Robert Zawadski and wife Lorraine of East Granby, her sister-in-law Germaine Zawadski of Wethersfield and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers John Zawadski, Paul Raffino, Albert Raffino and sister Rose DiMeo. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, Sept. 25, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Martha Church 214 Brainard Rd. Enfield. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Anne’s family will receive friends on Wednesday. Sept. 24, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Road, Enfield. Memorial donations may be made to the Enfield Senior Center, 299 Enfield St. Enfield, CT 06082.
