Bettie (Bovee) Frew, 87, beloved wife of the late Hurburt H. “Pete” Frew, died peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Friday, December 26, 2014 at her home. Born in Barton, New York, Bettie has been a longtime resident of Enfield and a member of the Hazardville United Methodist Church. Bettie was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She is survived by her loving children, Richard and Gloria Tubbs of Candor, NY, Tricia Parker of Chester, CT, Carolyne and Donald Bellows of Woodstock, CT, Donald and Vicki Tubbs of Willington, CT, Martin and Linda Tubbs of Lebanon, CT, Penny and Jay D’Aleo of Enfield and Colleen Frew of Enfield; her stepson, Tim and Claire Frew of Windsor Locks; her sisters, Letty Koski, Margaret and Roy Huhta, and Donna Slater; and many loved grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Bettie was predeceased by her son Stephen Tubbs and her sister Janice Richards. A memorial service in celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church of Enfield, 41 Brainard Road, Enfield, CT 06082. Burial immediately following at Enfield Street Cemetery, followed by a reception in the Fellowship Hall at Hazardville United Methodist Church, 320 Hazard Avenue, Enfield, CT 06082. To honor Bettie’s request, there are no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to the Hazardville United Methodist Elevator Fund, 320 Hazard Avenue, Enfield, CT 06082.
