Obituary for Louis F. Furnas

Louis F.  Furnas
Louis F. Furnas, 70, of Stafford Springs, entered into eternal rest on Friday (Feb. 6, 2015) at Rockville General Hospital. He was the beloved husband of 25 years to Linda E. (Williamson) Furnas. Louis was born on March 29, 1944 in Fall River, MA, the son of the late Louis S. Jr., and Mary G. (Silvia) Furnas and had resided in Stafford Springs for the past 45 years. Louis proudly served his country with the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.
He was employed with Amtrak for many years and then as an Independent Electrician.
Louis was a member of the American Legion Post 26, Stafford Springs and a member of the United Methodist Church of Rockville. In his leisure time he enjoyed traveling and camping with his family, Louis also had a passion for flying and rebuilding antique airplanes.
Besides his wife Linda, he is also survived by his children; Melanie E. Brule & husband Joseph, Melissa K. Keane & husband Maurice, Dennis Andrews & wife Kelly, Jason Andrews & wife Kelly and Sarah Andrews, his grandchildren; Kristen E. Sommer & husband Christopher, Candice V. Leduc, Caitlin E. Keane, Colin A. Keane, Brittney, Ryan, Emily & Amber Andrews and Tyler Ouellette, his pet dog “Betty-Boo”, his sister Kathleen Almy & husband Fredric, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by a sister Gloria M. Rodrigues.
Relatives and friends may gather with his family on Wednesday (Feb. 11, 2015) from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield, CT. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday (Feb. 12, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at the Rockville United Methodist Church, 142 Grove St. Vernon, CT. (Go directly to church) followed by military honors. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorial donations be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, P.O. Box 758517 Topeka, KS 66675.
