Obituary for Royce W. Keyes, Jr.

Royce  W.  Keyes, Jr.
Royce W. Keyes, Jr., of Enfield, entered peacefully into eternal life at the age of 82, on Wednesday (February 18, 2015) in Lakeland, FL. He was the beloved husband of 56 years to the late Irene V. (Visnauskas) Keyes (2011) and son of the late Royce W., Sr. and Sara (Kellogg) Keyes. Royce was born on June 16, 1932 in Pawtucket, RI and grew up in Warwick and had resided in Enfield for many years. He served his country proudly and was a U.S. Air Force veteran having served during the Korean War, stationed in Alaska. Royce retired from Anderson Group in Bloomfield after many years or service. He enjoyed golfing, playing bingo and vacationing with family and friends at Lake Bomoseen in VT, also spending the winter with his many friends in Davenport, FL and was a volunteer at The Suffield House, his greatest joy was spending time with family especially the grandchildren.
Royce is survived by his five children; Ron Keyes & wife Sharon of Manchester, Linda Eichler & husband Jack of Enfield, Tim Keyes & wife Theresa of East Windsor, Patricia Keyes of Enfield and Anne Tingley & husband Scott of Enfield, his eight beloved grandchildren; Matt, Kat & Greg Eichler, Kayla & Melissa Tingley and Kristina, Kylie & Kassie Keyes, He is also survived by a brother Sumner Keyes & wife Marilyn of Hanford, CA, and their children, Donna, Darlene and Rene and their families. He will also be missed by his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Dr. John and Phyllis Visnauskas and their children, Amy, Katie and Ruth Ann and their families.
Relatives and friends may gather with Royce’s family during calling hours on Thursday (Feb. 26, 2015) from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. in Enfield. Funeral services will be held on Friday (Feb. 27, 2015) with the procession forming at 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home to Holy Family Church, 23 Simon Rd. Enfield for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in St. Patrick’s King St. Cemetery in Enfield. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Royce’s memory may be made to the American Lung Association of CT, 45 Ash St. East Hartford, CT 06108-3272.
