Robert "Bob" J  Fitzgerald, Sr.
Robert “Bob” J. Fitzgerald, Sr., 85, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 22, 2015, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Enfield, Bob was the son of the late John and Beatrice (White) Fitzgerald. Bob proudly served his country in the United States Army during WW II and the Korean Conflict and was the recipient of the WW II Victory Medal and Army Occupation Medal. He is survived by his wife, Lillian (Mancuso) Fitzgerald; his daughter, Linda Fitzgerald and her husband, Cary Handley; his son, Robert J. Fitzgerald, Jr., and his partner, Britt Nystrom; his daughter, Terry Fitzgerald; his sister, Mary Balboni, and his large loving family. He was predeceased by his brothers, Jack and Tom Fitzgerald and his sister, Eileen McGuinness. Bob’s family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, March 28, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. followed by a service with military honors at 12:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Road Enfield, CT 06082. A private burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jackson, FL 32256.
