Anna June (Verrill) Patchell, of Enfield, entered into eternal rest on Sunday Dec. 20, 2015 surrounded by her loving family at Baystate Medical Ctr, Springfield, MA. She was the beloved wife of the late Bertram W. Patchell. Anna was born on March 29, 1923 in Maine, daughter of the late Beede and Clara (Anderson) Verrill and resided in Enfield for the past 60 years and in Maine before that. Her life revolved around caring for her family and home. She enjoyed nature, especially trips to the North Maine Woods. Along, with snowmobiling, knitting, crocheting, sewing, beading, cooking, gardening, RVing, bird watching and going to Antique Engine shows with husband Bertram. Anna was a member of the Shaker Pines Lake Assoc. and former member of the Enfield Women’s Club.
She is survived by her two beloved grandchildren Lori Parker & husband Mike, and Marc Underwood & wife Heather all of Enfield, her four loving great grandchildren Susan Parker, Marissa Parker, Alex Underwood and Cheyenne Underwood and three adored great-great grandchildren June, Seth, and Abby Gill. She is also survived by two sisters Betty Griffin of Plainfield and Glenna LeConte of Quaker Hill, along with many nieces and nephews. Anna was predeceased by her daughter Susan (Patchell) Underwood, sister Beverly Jean Verrill and two brothers Albert and Alfred Verrill.
Calling hours for Anna will be held on Sunday Dec. 27, 2015 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield, followed by a Prayer Service at 3:00 p.m. with Fr. John Melnick officiating. Burial will take place on Monday Dec. 28, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. in the Hazardville Cemetery in Enfield. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in her memory may be made to the Huntington’s Disease Society of America, 101 Deer Run Colchester, CT 06415.
