Bernadine “Bernie” F. ( Daley) Dooley, 87, of Enfield, entered into eternal life, on Thursday April 7, 2016 at Mary’s Meadow, Providence Place in Holyoke, MA. She was the beloved wife of 60 years to Richard G. Dooley, Sr. Bernadine was born on Oct. 31, 1928 in Beverly Farms, MA to the late Charles and Mary (Cormican) Daley. She had resided in Enfield for the past 23 years and in Springfield, MA prior to that. Before her marriage to Richard she was employed as a receptionist at a bank in Boston. Bernie was Past President of St. Catherine of Siena Church Women’s Club. She was also a volunteer for many years at Our Lady of Providence Children’s Center, having received Volunteer of the Year in 1983 and also received an honorary degree awarded by Our Lady of the Elms College in 2002. She was very interested in politics and current affairs.
Along with her husband Richard, Bernie is also survived by her loving children; Thomas Dooley & wife Ann Marie of Greensboro, NC, Paul Dooley & wife Diane of Huntington, NY, Gretchen Perkins & husband Matt of Enfield, CT and Charles Dooley of Enfield, CT, her fifteen beloved grandchildren; Christopher, Megan, Kayla, Siobhan, Brianna, Teddy, Richelle, Erin, Connor, Thomas, Patrick, Liam, Alanna, Tatum and Seamus, and cherished great grandchild; Bree, a sister; Ruth Wiseman & husband William of Beverly, MA, and many nieces and nephews. Bernie was predeceased by a son Richard G. Dooley, Jr. and siblings; Mary Melody, Robert Daley, Ellen Morin, Katherine LeClerc and Rev. John Daley.
Her family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday April 10, 2016 during calling hours from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield, CT. Funeral services will be held on Monday April 11, 2016 with the funeral procession forming at 9:00 a.m. to St. Martha Church 214 Brainard Rd. for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Patrick’s King Street Cemetery, Enfield, CT. Memorial donations in Bernie’s memory may be made to the Sisters of Providence
