Obituary for Joann Bennici (DiPizza)
Joann Bennici, 89, of Enfield, entered into eternal life on Thursday April 28, 2016 at the Jewish Nursing Home, Longmeadow, MA. She was the beloved wife of 57years to the late Angelo Bennici. Joann was born on Jan.7, 1927 in Canicatti, Italy, to the late Charles and Phyllis DiPizza. Prior to retiring in 1989 Joann was employed for 33 years with the former Montgomery Co. in Windsor Locks. She had a passion for cooking and especially baking her famous cookies, also gardening and grew beautiful roses, but her greatest love was spending time with her family.
Joann is survived by her three children; John Bennici and his wife Linda of Enfield, Carmelina Reale and her husband Thomas of Enfield and Phyllis Bennici of Suffield, her beloved grandchildren; John V. Bennici (Jennifer), Melissa Caye (Edward) Thomas Reale (Christine) Michael Reale (Alex), Giovanna Demers, Christina Demers, Zachary Demers & fiancée Aimee Stymest, and Evan Demers, her cherished great grandchildren; Isabella & Logan Caye, and Luca, Nico & Camilla Reale, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends may gather with her family during calling hours on Monday May 2, 2016 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday May 3, 2016 with the procession forming at 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Bernard Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Patrick’s King St. Cemetery in Enfield.
