Myrtle F.  Dewire (Acorn)
Myrtle F. (Acorn) Dewire, 87, of Longmeadow, MA and formerly of Framingham, MA entered into eternal rest on Saturday May 7, 2016 at the Jewish Nursing Home, Longmeadow MA. She was the beloved wife of 44 years to the late Donald W. Dewire. Myrtle was born on July 20, 1928 in Prince Edward Island, Canada. Myrtle had resided in Longmeadow for the past 8 years and prior to that in Framingham, MA for 37 years. A loving & devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother her life was dedicated to caring for her family and loved spending time with family. She loved playing bingo and did so as often as possible.
Myrtle is survived by her two loving daughters and sons-in-laws; Elizabeth “Betty” and Fedeli Carrieri of Suffield, CT, and Donna and John Morreale of Webster, MA, her beloved grandchildren; Joseph & Debra Carrieri, Nikki & Bruce Benoit, Toni Morreale and Eric, Joseph Morreale and Alicia and Shelby Morreale, her cherished great-grandchildren; Colby Benoit, Taylor, Nicholas and Sydney Carrieri, Hannah and Joseph Morreale, and Cailienne Ly. She is also survived by her sister; Joyce of Prince Edward Island, Canada, along with many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband she was also predeceased by a daughter Bonita Acorn, two sisters and a brother.
Her family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday May 11, 2016 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. followed by a Prayer Service with Fr. Anthony Bruno officiating in celebration of Myrtle’s life at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield, CT. Committal services will be private in The Gardens of Gethsemane Cemetery in West Roxbury, MA. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in her memory may be made to the Network Against Domestic Abuse, 139 Hazard Ave. Enfield, CT 06082.
