Obituary for Ernest H. Delorge
Ernest “Ernie” H. Delorge, 85, of Enfield, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday May 24, 2016 at St. Francis Hospital & Medical Ctr., Hartford, CT. He was the beloved husband of 58 years to the late Marion “Mary” (Panella) Delorge. Ernest was born on Dec. 5, 1930 in Enfield, CT to the late Ernest and Cora Delorge, and was a lifelong resident. Ernie served his country honorably with the U.S. Army from June 1948 to May 1949 and then enlisted in the Army Reserves..
Ernie always loved entertaining family and friends with his guitar and had a passion for country music. He enjoyed spending time with his grandsons Tony & Joe, and trips to Foxwoods & Mohegan Sun. He was a member of the DAV (Disabled American Veterans) the Knights of Columbus Council 50, Enfield and VFW..
Ernie is survived by his daughter; Roxanne Delorge-Hicks and husband Robert of Ludlow, MA, his son; Glenn Delorge of Enfield and daughter-in-law; Chrystel Delorge of Germany, his four grandchildren; Anthony Hicks & wife Samantha of Chicopee, MA, Joseph Hicks of Ludlow, MA, Elaine Delorge and Jessica Delorge of Germany. He is also survived by his brother; William Delorge of Broad Brook, along with nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours for Ernie will be held on Friday May 27, 2016 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, Enfield, followed by a Memorial Service with Rev. Linda Peabody officiating and military honors. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in St. Patrick’s King Street Cemetery.
