Rena Mae  Emonds (Corbin)
Rena Mae (Corbin) Emonds, 84, of Enfield, entered into eternal life on Friday, August 26, 2016 at Hartford Hospital with her loving family at her side. She was the beloved wife of Joseph J. Emonds. Rena Mae was born on March 30, 1932 in Fort Kent, Maine, a daughter of the late Francois and Rose (Saucier) Corbin, and had resided in Enfield for the past 56 years and in Caribou, ME prior to that. She re-enrolled in high school as an adult and graduated with the Enfield H. S. Class of 1971. Before retiring, she was employed with Woolco and Caldor’s as a sales associate for over 35 years. Rena Mae was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Girl Scouts of America, and Relay for Life (Sole Train Team), and was a parishioner of Holy Family Church. She was an avid UCONN Huskies Women’s basketball and N.E. Patriots fan.
Besides her beloved husband Joseph of 65 years, Rena Mae is also survived by: her three daughters, Rose Mary Wheat & husband Kim of Windham, Cheryl McGuff & husband Stephen of Avon, and Joella Nicewicz & husband David of South Windsor; her seven beloved grandchildren, John Wheat (Wendy), Jason Wheat, Shannon Shupak (Dr. Raymond), Kelsey McGuff (Stephen Perry), Brendan McGuff, Hailey Nicewicz, and Alexis Nicewicz; three loving great grandchildren, Kaitlyn & Parker Wheat and Lila Mae Shupak; a brother Steven Corbin of FL and a sister Kay Clark of TN, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by 14 siblings.
Relatives and friends may gather with her family during calling hours on Monday, Aug. 29, 2016 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2016 with the funeral procession forming at 9:00 a.m. to Holy Family Church, Enfield for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Patrick’s King St. Cemetery, Enfield.
