Gail C.  Durossette (Clifton)
Gail C. (Clifton) Durossette, 74, of Enfield, entered into eternal rest on Sunday Oct. 2, 2016 at Hartford Hospital. Gail was born on Nov. 24, 1941 in Hartford, CT to the late Joseph and Alice (Herrick) Clifton and resided in Enfield most of her life. Gail served our country proudly with the US Navy from Sept. 1960 - Sept. 1961. Prior to retirement Gail was employed as a letter carrier with the U.S. Enfield Postal Service for many years and with the US Army & Air Force National Guard for 22 years. She was a member of the AMVETS Post 18 Enfield, Union Stewart for National Assoc. of Letter Carriers, Branch 86 and former member of the East Windsor Lions Club. In her leisure time she enjoyed doing genealogy, puzzles, and was a UCONN Huskies Basketball fan, but her greatest joy was spending time with family especially the grand and great-grandchildren.
Gail is survived by her five children; Jerry L. Durossette & wife Gina of Abu-Dhabi, Rhonda M. Conrad of Springfield, MA, Michelle R. Grillo of Westfield, MA Debbie L. Cramer & companion William Gerow of Palmer, MA and Rebecca D. Oliver & husband Lance of Enfield, CT, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings; Irene Clifton of Suffield, Joan Elders of FL and Emery Clifton of East Windsor, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a grandchild, two great-grandchildren and three siblings;Janet Bentley, Alice Miller and Joseph Clifton.
Her family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday Oct. 6, 2016 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield. A Graveside service with military honors will take place on Friday Oct. 7, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Springdale Cemetery, East Windsor, CT. Memorial donations in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701.
