Obituary for Virginia "Ginny" L. Magee (Cotter)

Virginia "Ginny" L.  Magee (Cotter)
Virginia L. “Ginny” (Cotter) Magee, 78, of Enfield, entered Eternal Life on Wednesday Feb. 15, 2017 with her loving family at her side. She was the beloved wife of 46 years to the late James P. Magee (2001). Virginia was born on April 11, 1938 in Middletown, CT, to the late Frederick and Regina Cotter. She had resided in Enfield for the past 53 years and in Middletown, CT before that. She was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson H.S., Middletown. Prior to retiring Ginny was a Realtor for 25 years with Sentry Real Estate and was also employed with the former Mountain Laurel Restaurant, Enfield. She was a parishioner of St. Martha Church, Enfield and a volunteer & Usher at the Bushnell. Ginny enjoyed cooking for family, gardening, and was a Miniature Dollhouse artist & enthusiast, she loved her kitties & dogs; Fonzi the Airdale and Princess her cat.
Ginny is survived by her four children; James William Magee & Jan Mehn of Chicago, IL, Cheryl & Armand Ruby of Santa Cruz, CA, Jeffrey Frederick Magee and Sage Freechild of Enfield and David Francis & Gina Magee of Torrington, CT, her grandchildren; Claire Emma & Reghardt VanRooyen, Emily Amelia Ruby and Nathan Christopher Ruby, her great-grandson; Leo Gehardus.
She is also survived by her two siblings; Susan Kotowski and James Cotter both of FL along with several nieces, nephews and cousin Carol of Suffield.
Relatives and friends may gather with her family during calling hours on Sunday Feb. 19, 2017 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, Enfield. Funeral services will be held on Monday Feb. 20, 2017 with the funeral procession forming at 9:00 a.m. to St. Martha Church 214 Brainard Rd. Enfield for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s King Street Cemetery, Enfield. Memorial donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Assoc. CT Chapter, 200 Executive Blvd. Ste. 4B, Southington, CT 06489.
