Wanda N.  Granger (Walizki)
Wanda N. Granger, 95, of Plainfield and formerly of Enfield, CT, entered into eternal life on Monday April 3, 2017 at Day Kimball Hospital Putnam, CT. She was the beloved wife of John F. Granger. She met the love of her life in grammar school. They went on to marry and spent many happy years together until his passing at the young age of 38 in 1959. She never remarried. Wanda was born on September 19, 1921 in Suffield, CT, the daughter of the late Charles and Anelia (Lach) Walizki. She lived in Enfield most of her life and was a graduate of Enfield High School. Prior to retiring many years ago Wanda was employed with Cigna and Aetna Insurance Companies. She was a parishioner and proud supporter of St. Adalbert Church for decades. Wanda enjoyed the last ten years of her life living in Plainfield under the loving care of her beloved daughter Darlene and son-in-law Tom. Wanda was an accomplished seamstress, loved to read and was an animal lover as well. In addition, she was a wonderful mother, proud to have raised two children on her own as a young widow. Wanda is survived by beloved son John C. Granger and his wife Patricia of Saugus, MA and loving daughter Darlene M. Hall and her husband Thomas of Plainfield, CT, her God-daughter Ann Dubiel of Scarsdale, NY and nephew Robert Dubiel and his wife Barbara of Wilton, CT. Relatives and friends may gather with her family on Friday April 7, 2017 from 9:00 to 11:00 am at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield, CT followed by a mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:30 am in St. Adalbert Church, 90 Alden Ave, Enfield CT. Interment will take place in St. Adalbert Cemetary, Enfield. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Wanda's memory made be made to the Hospice and Palliative Care of Northeastern CT, 320 Pomfret St. Putnam, CT 06260.
