Obituary for Eduardo Abel Chavez

Eduardo Abel Chavez, 72 of Enfield, entered into eternal rest on Monday Apr. 17, 2017 in the comfort of his home. He was the beloved husband of 50 years to Cutberta (Mellado) Chavez. He was born on Jan. 23, 1945 in Putla de Guerrero, Oaxaca, Mexico to the late Angel and Constancia (Solano) Chavez. Before retiring he was a self-employed restaurant owner.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children; Armando and Carolina Chavez of Enfield, Lilia and Wences Martinez of Enfield, Carmen and Daniel Llanas of Enfield, Guillermo and Nancy Chavez of Houston, TX, and Roberto Chavez and Kevin Sullivan of Hartford, eleven grandchildren; Julia, Adrian, and Marco Martinez, Armando, Jr., Miguel, and Javier Chavez, Xochitl and Zuyuani Llanas, Cecy and Edwin Chavez, and Natalie Fisher, two great-grandchildren; Delia and Kaelyn Chavez. He is also survived by his two brothers, Hector Altamirano and Cesar Chavez, along with many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Leonel Altamirano, Irma, Franco, and Niceforo Chavez.
His family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday Apr. 20, 2017 from 3p.m. to 7p.m. at Browne Memorial Chapels. Funeral services will be held on Friday Apr. 21, 2017 9 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Patrick’s Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s King St. Cemetery, Enfield, CT.
