Obituary for Raymond T. Surapine

Raymond Thomas Surapine, 85, of Enfield, entered into eternal life on Monday Apr. 17, 2017 in the comfort of home with his loving family at his side. He was the beloved husband of 58+ years to Carol M. (Madore) Surapine. Raymond was born on Sept. 6, 1931 in Hartford, CT to the late Victor and Grace (Callahan) Surapine and had resided in Enfield for 56 years. He served his country proudly with the U.S. Air Force, was Veteran of the Korean War and Staff SGT with the Air National Guard. Prior to retiring in 1995 Raymond was an accountant with the Hartford Courant for 48 years. He was the founding Cub Master of Cub Scout Pack 391, a member of the John Maciolek Post 154 American Legion, Enfield, the Knights of Columbus and St. Bernard Church, Enfield. Raymond was an avid model railroader, he enjoyed camping, fishing and loved spending time with his family.
Besides his wife, Carol, he is also survived by his beloved children; Paul Surapine & wife Susan of Milford, MA, Peter Surapine & wife Karen of Stafford, Matthew Surapine & wife Elizabeth of Norwalk, Beth Surapine & fiancé Jim Russell of Stafford Springs, and Michael Surapine & wife Stacy of Newnan, GA, his ten grandchildren: Emilie, Stanley, Zachary, Joshua, Bailey, Isabel, Paige, Gisella, Irene and Delaney, his cherished four great-grandchildren; Charles, William, Thomas and Joseph.
His family will receive relatives and friends during calling hours on Friday April 21, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Chapels, Enfield, Funeral services will be on Saturday April 22, 2017 with the funeral procession forming at 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home to St. Bernard Church, Enfield for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment with military honors will follow in the Hazardville Cemetery, Enfield. Memorial donations in his memory may be made to St. Bernard Church 426 Hazard Ave. Enfield, CT 06082.
