Obituary for Felix "Phil" N. Guillemette

Felix “Phil” N. Guillemette, 74, of Bradenton, FL, and formerly of Enfield & Stafford Springs, CT, entered into eternal life, on Wednesday April 19, 2017 with his loving wife and daughters at his side. He was the beloved husband of 51 years to Diane E. (Picillo) Guillemette. Felix was born on Aug. 8, 1942 in Swansea, MA to the late Joseph and Mary (Paquette) Guillemette and attended St. Joseph School in West Warwick, RI. He had resided in Enfield for many years, then in Stafford Springs and the past six years in Florida. Prior to retiring Phil was employed with Gerber Scientific Co for many years. In his leisure time he enjoyed camping and golfing, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.
Besides his beloved wife Diane, Phil is survived by his two loving daughters; Diane Bertrand of Enfield and Nicole Long & husband Kevin of Somers, his five cherished grandchildren, Adam Zachary Bertrand, Seth Thomas Bertrand, Samantha Diane Bertrand Marissa Marilyn Long and Kalvin Felix Long, his adored great-granddaughter; Amelia Ariel, and his beloved companion (dog) “Ben”. He is also survived by his siblings; Gerald Guillemette of Warwick, RI, Lawrence Guillemette of Stafford Springs, Theresa Charron of FL, Paul Guillemette of FL, Louis Guillemette of Coventry, RI, Annette Boivin of Lincoln, RI, Ludgy Guillemette of Coventry, RI, and Madeline Snocki of FL, along with many nieces, nephews & cousins and their families. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a sister Gertrude Blais and a brother George Guillemette.
Relatives and friends may gather with his family during calling hours on Sunday April 23, 2017 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, Enfield, CT. Funeral services will be held on Monday April 24, 2017 with the procession forming at 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home to All Saints Church, Somersville, CT for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Edward’s Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT. His family would like to thank his nurses, Jodie, Tammy & Eve, and caregivers, Lennox, Lola & Janeth from the Hospice Team for the exceptional care.
