Iuliana "Lydia"  Turculet Ionescu (Hurbenca)
Iuliana “Lydia” Turculet Ionescu, 94. entered into eternal rest on Saturday June 17, 2017 at Evergreen Health Care, Stafford Springs with her loving family at her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Theodor Turculet Ionescu. Lydia was born on Oct. 20, 1922, to the late Sofronie Hurbenca and Alexandrina Hurbenca Moraru. She lived most of her life in Romania until 2000, when she came to the United States to be closer to her family. Lydia was a very dedicated and loving wife, mother and grandmother and devoted her time to caring for family and her home. She enjoyed gardening, music, crafts and painting (water colors).
She is survived by her loving son and daughter-in-law; Constantin and Georgeta Turculet of Enfield, and her beloved granddaughter Laura & her family in Canada.
Lydia’s family will receive friends on Wednesday June 21, 2017 1 hour prior to the Funeral Service at church from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., followed by the Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. in St. Luke’s Greek Orthodox Church, East Longmeadow, MA. Burial will then take place in the Hazardville Cemetery, Enfield, CT. Memorial donations may be made to St. Luke’s Greek Orthodox Church, 400 Prospect St. East Longmeadow, MA 01028.
