Aurore P. Wakelee, of Enfield, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday June 20, 2017 at Evergreen Health Care. She was the beloved wife of 53 years to the late Edward C. Wakelee.
Aurore was born on March 7, 1924 in New Haven, CT to the late Wilbert and Laura (Bourque) Anger and resided in Enfield for the past 65 years. Prior to retiring in 1994 she was employed for 30 years with St. Joseph’s Res./Little Sisters of the Poor. She always had a big heart, and put her children and grandchildren first before her needs. She is survived by her children; Diane Pacello & husband Eugene of Enfield, Edward Wakelee, Jr. of CA, Richard Wakelee of Stafford, Joanne Wakelee of Vernon, John Wakelee & wife Sherry of Agawam, MA, and Marie Wakelee & husband Jude Wigmore of Enfield, her eleven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. In addition to a sister Pauline Laughlin of St. Augustine, FL, and many several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a grandson Heath Herrington and a brother Wilbert Anger, Jr. Services for Aurore are at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in her memory may be made to Little Sisters of the Poor/St. Joseph’s Res., 1365 Enfield St. Enfield, CT 06082.
