Ellen I. (Hall) Wright, 86, of Enfield, passed away peacefully after a brief period of declining health, on Sunday July 23, 2017, at Johnson Memorial Hospital with her loving family at her side. Ellen was born on May 27, 1931 in New Haven, CT to the late Harold and Ida (Kiedrowski) Hall. She received her Teaching Degree from New Haven State Teacher’s College. Ellen lived her childhood Guilford, CT and her married life mostly in Enfield. A selflessly dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she devoted her life to caring for her family and home. Ellen was a 57 year member of the Enfield Congregational Church, where she was very active in all facets of church life. In her leisure time she enjoyed gardening, quilting, singing and genealogy.
Ellen is survived by her husband of 64 years, Leroy C. Wright, as well as her two sons; Charles Wright & wife Ann, and Timothy Wright, and son-in-law Joseph Rancourt. She leaves behind five beloved grandchildren; Andrea Ruff, Dawn Johnson, Tim Rancourt, Jennifer Cristelli, and Charles D. Wright, and four great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may gather with her family during calling hours on Wednesday July 26, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, Enfield. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday July 27, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Enfield Congregational Church 1295 Enfield Street Enfield, CT (Meet at church). Committal will then follow in the Hazardville Cemetery, Enfield. CT. Memorial donations in her memory may be made to the Enfield Congregational Church 1295 Enfield St. Enfield, CT 06082.
