Obituary for William R. Lange

William R. Lange, Sr. of Ellington, entered in to eternal rest on Tuesday Sept. 12, 2017 at the age of 74 at his home. William was born on November 4, 1942 in Albany, NY to the late Daniel J. and Mena (Kissling) Lange. He had resided in Ellington since 1985, and before that in Rockville, he was a graduate of Manchester H.S. Class of 1960, from Paul Smith College in 1962 and received his BSA from University of Montana in 1965. William served his country proudly with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Prior to retiring he was employed with Manafort Bros. Inc., Plainville, CT. He was a member of the VFW, and Ellington Senior Center. He enjoyed feeding the backyard wildlife, fishing, NASCAR racing fan, and spending time with his grandchildren.
William is survived by his two children; Tina M. Currier & husband Dana of Enfield, and William R. Lange, Jr. & wife Kamál of Bedford, NH, his four cherished grandchildren; Stephenie Montie, Cassidy Currier, Shane Currier and Zachary Lange, along with extended family and his pet (chipmunk) Zeke.
He was predeceased by his former wife of 45 years Jeannette (Bonin) Lange on (6/20/17).
William’s family will receive relatives and friends during calling hours on Friday Sept. 15, 2017 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, Enfield followed by a service with Pastor Michael Coons officiating. Interment with military honors will be PRIVATE in the Hazardville Cemetery, Enfield.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorial contributions in his memory be made to the Ellington Senior Center, 40 Maple St. Ellington, CT 066029.
