Obituary for Celia Ann Saracco (Liucci)

Celia Ann Saracco (Liucci)
Celia Ann Saracco, of Enfield, born January 29, 1928, was called to Heaven on Monday October 2, 2017 at Parkway Pavilion with her daughters by her side. Celia was the daughter of Thomas and Maria Liucci, and the widow of John Saracco. She leaves behind two daughters, Lucy “Lou Ann” Labak and her husband Ken, and Marie Pyznar and her husband Jake. She was the proud grandmother of Kenneth Labak II & his wife Katie, Alexandra Reale & her husband Michael, and Erica Pyznar & partner Gregory Anderson. Left to remember her are also her six great-grandchildren, Anna Renee, Kyle, and Gage Labak, Morgan and Jake Post, and Camilla Reale. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, Celia was pre-deceased by her three brothers, James, Anthony and Joseph Liucci, and her brothers-in-law, Dante and Anthony Saracco. A lifetime communicant of St. Patrick Parish, she took pride in being a member of the Altar Society. She was an honorary member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Women's Auxiliary, where she enjoyed making fried dough each year at the annual festival. Celia was also one of the original members of the St. Joseph Society. After her retirement from Youth Center in 1988, Celia became a volunteer at Prudence Crandall grammar school where she helped in the library. She loved talking to people, and never had a problem voicing her opinion. Over the last three years while living at Parkway Pavilion, she was proud to serve as the Vice President of their Resident Council. Celia came to love the residents and staff at Parkway, they became an important part of her family. Her daughters would especially like to thank her nurses Becky and Devon, her aide and friend Sandy, whom she said she loved every day, as well as the many staff members who went out of their way to make her always feel special. Thank you to the amazing recreation department staff, Cheryl, Patty, Sue, and especially Diane, who would dance with mom to the Tennessee Waltz every time they had music. A special thank you to the Masonicare staff, for their love and support to Celia and her family over the past few months. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Parkway Pavilion Recreation Fund, 1157 Enfield St. Enfield, CT 06082.
