Obituary for Wanda P. Lamana (Pierog)
SHARON, MA – Wanda (Pierog) Lamana, 90, formerly of Enfield, CT died Thursday, November 30, 2017 at Wingate of Sharon Healthcare, Sharon, MA.
Wanda was the beloved wife of Joseph D. Lamana for 51 years until his death in 2002.
Born in Enfield, CT on April 11, 1927, daughter of the late Wladyslaw and Aniela (Tabor) Pierog. She was a 1944 graduate of Enfield High School. A Communicant of St Martha’s Church, she was previously employed at New England Telephone and Steiger’s Department Store. She was a longtime member and past President of the Enfield Historical Society. She especially enjoyed giving tours to school children of the Wallop School, the only remaining one-room schoolhouse in Enfield.
She is survived by her son, Mark and his wife, Debra of Los Angeles, CA and her daughter, Lorna Hurwitz and her husband, Robert of Sharon, MA. Grandmother of Amy Hurwitz & her fiancé Ben Flavin of Arlington, MA, sister of Helen Banis of Enfield, CT. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by siblings Matthew, Ernest, Alvin, Lotilda, Stella Folk and Philomena Lata.
Calling hours are Monday morning December. 4, 2017prior to funeral services from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, Enfield, CT, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. in St. Martha Church, Enfield. Committal service will take place in St. Patrick’s King St. Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association CT Chapter 200 Executive Blvd., 4B Southington, CT 06489-1058.
