Maria L.  Zacchia (Sabino)
Maria L. (Sabino) Zacchia, 81, of Suffield, entered into Eternal Life on Sunday Dec. 3, 2017, with her loving family at her side, at St. Francis Hospital & Medical Center, Hartford.
She was the beloved wife of 54 years to the late Tommaso Zacchia. Maria was born on Aug. 1, 1936 in Montreal, Canada to the late Antonio and Arcangela (Marra) Sabino. She had resided in Suffield for the past 4 years and prior to that in Enfield, Southington & Montreal. A loving & devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she dedicated her life to caring for her family and home. She was a parishioner of St. Adalbert Church in Enfield.
Maria is survived by her three children: Josie Morrison & husband John of Suffield, Vinnie Zacchia & wife Kim of Lakeland, FL and Angelo Zacchia & wife Maria of Suffield, her six beloved grandchildren; April & Mike Trombly, Sean Morrison, Tommaso Zacchia, Isabella Zacchia, Olivia Zacchia & Sofia Zacchia, and two cherished great-grandchildren; Penny & Cody Trombly. She is also survived by a sister Carmen Albertson of Montreal, and a brother-in-law Guarino Zacchia & wife Angelina of Southington, along with many nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband & parents she was also predeceased by her brothers & sisters; Frank, Nick, Germaine, Joseph, Sammy, Luigi, Angelina & Anne, and her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Rosa & Giuseppe Izzo and Giuseppe & Francesca Zacchia.
The family would especially like to thank the staff at Stonebrook Village of Windsor Locks.
Maria’s family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday Dec. 5, 2017 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, Enfield. Funeral Services will be held on Wed. Dec. 6, 2017 with the procession forming at 9:00 a.m. to St. Adalbert Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Patrick’s King Street Cemetery, Enfield. The family has requested memorial donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000 Dept. 142 Memphis, TN 38101-9908.
