Helene  T.  Malley (Tierney)
Helene Therese (Tierney) Malley, 84, loving mother of five, adoring grandmother of eight, and great-grandmother of three, entered into eternal life on Saturday, December 2, 2017 surrounded by her family at Evergreen Health Care Center, Stafford Springs. Helene was born December 6, 1932, the daughter of the late Francis and Veronica (Cobb) Tierney. Helene was a lifelong resident of Enfield and parishioner of St. Patrick Church. Helene graduated from Enfield High School in 1950. She was an accomplished quilter. Helene was a former member of the Enfield Quilter’s Club and University of the Third Age. She retired from Hamilton Standard Federal Credit Union in 1999. An avid sports fan, she enjoyed watching the Red Sox, Giants and UConn Women’s basketball games. Helene is survived by her daughter Kathleen Thomson and her husband William of Enfield; her three sons, Edward Malley III of Fairfield, Maine, Michael Malley and his wife Nancy of Granby, CT and James Malley and his wife Karla of Ellington; her grandchildren: Edward Malley IV, Megan Thomson, Patrick Thomson, Ryan Malley, Kyle Malley, Justin Malley, Rachel Malley and Erin Malley, and her great-grandchildren: Mia, Kiara, and Edward Malley V, and her former daughter-in-law Bonnie Malley. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Eileen Malley in 1964, her brother Francis Tierney; and three sisters, Maureen Reilly, Catherine Tierney, Janet Tierney and her former husband Edward Malley Jr. Helene’s family thanks her caregiver Joanne Alphonse for the excellent care she provided during Helene’s residence at Mark Twain Congregate Housing. Her family also wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the nurses and staff, especially Erin and Sophia, at Evergreen Health Care Center for their kind and compassionate care of their mother. Helene’s family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, December 8, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, Enfield, CT. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2017 with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. in St. Patrick Church, corner of Pearl and High Streets, in the Thompsonville section of Enfield. (Please meet at church). Burial will be at the convenience of the family in St. Patrick’s King St. Cemetery, Enfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Helene’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association CT Chapter, 200 Executive Blvd. S #4B, Southington, CT 06489, St. Patrick Church, 64 Pearl St., Enfield, CT 06082, or Enfield Food Shelf, P.O.
