Mary  Ellen  Scalia (Kudla)
Mary Ellen (Kudla) Scalia, 66, of Enfield, passed from her earthly journey on Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018 at Hartford Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Frank A. Scalia.
Mary was born on March 27, 1951 in Springfield, MA to the late William and Ann (McKee) Kudla, She was a lifelong resident of Enfield and a graduate of Enfield High School Class of 1969, she then continued her education and received her Associates Degree from Asnuntuck Community College. Prior to retiring Mary was employed with State Farm Insurance Co. for many years. She enjoyed quilting and was a member of the Enfield & Stafford Quilting Guild, had a passion for animals, and an avid UCONN Huskies Basketball & NY Giants fan, also a member of Holy Family Church, but her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her grandchildren and family.
Besides her husband of 44 years Frank, she is also survived by her two loving daughters, Michelle White & husband Daniel and Andrea Smyth & husband Timothy both of Enfield, her six beloved grandchildren, Jason, Jeffrey & Jack White and Madison, Lila & Samantha Smyth, as well as her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Joseph & Laura Scalia, three nephews, Bryan, Derek & Gregg & their families, Also, her special friends and neighbors, Sheila Casey, Carol Mooney, the Whitten, Hames, Baker & Rogers families.
Her family will receive relatives & friends on Monday Feb. 12, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, Enfield. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday Feb. 13, 2018 with the procession forming at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home to Holy Family Church, Enfield for A Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. Interment will then follow in St. Patrick’s King St. Cemetery, Enfield. The family has requested memorial donations in her memory be made to the American Heart/Stroke Assoc., P.O. Box 417005 Boston, MA 02241-7005.
