Obituary for Kenneth E. Gatten

Kenneth E.  Gatten
Kenneth E. Gatten, 87, of Enfield, entered into eternal rest on Tues, Feb. 27, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital Hartford. He was the beloved husband of Noella J. (Martin) Gatten. Kenneth was born on April 14, 1930 in Lewisville, Ohio to the late Thurman and Audrey (Hyman) Gatten. He had resided in Enfield for the past 53 years and Pleasant City, OH prior to that.
Kenneth served his country honorably with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Prior to retiring in 1991, he was employed with Hamilton Standard/Sunstrand for 26 years. He was a former Commissioner with the Shaker Pines Fire Dept.
Besides his wife Noella, he is survived by a daughter Carrie Gatten, a grandson Jacob Thomas Gatten, a daughter-in-law Christine Gatten all of Enfield, a sister Eula Kahrig Gatten of Columbus, OH, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also predeceased by his son Jerry Gatten, siblings Billy Muth, Kermit Gatten, Delmas Gatten, Amy Hyman Gatten and Sue Kuhn Gatten.
There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday March 9, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Martha Church 214 Brainard Rd. Enfield (meet directly at church). Interment will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Connecticut Humane Society, 701 Russell Rd. Newington, CT 06111.
