Obituary for Brian J. Raulukaitis

Brian J. Raulukaitis
Brian J. Raulukaitis, aged 49, passed away peacefully surrounded by family, on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at Hartford Hospital, Hartford, Connecticut. He was born May 15, 1968 in Hartford, to William and Joanne (Paro) Raulukaitis. He was a 1986 graduate of South Windsor High School, attended the University of Connecticut and graduated from Eastern Connecticut State University in 1991.
He married Kelly Neild, of Enfield, on August 17, 1991. They have resided in Somers for 16 years with their children Tom and Ali (or as Brian referred to them Rat One and Rat Two). He worked by his father's side at Raulukaitis Remodeling for over 30 years, mastering the art of diplomacy and the science of carpentry. He had a penchant for working around his home and yard, and was quick to selflessly lend a hand to all who knew him. He enjoyed doing all kinds of projects with his friends; loved cooking, fishing, his dogs and shopping at COSTCO.
Brian was a dedicated son, brother, husband, father and loyal friend. He brought levity and comfort to every room he was in, and he had a knack for the even-keeled delivery of jokes. Brian could make fun of you more lovingly than many people can give compliments.
Brian also had an uncanny ability to network and engage in easy conversation with everyone he came in contact with. He is survived by his wife, Kelly, his son Thomas, his daughter Alison, parents, William and Joanne Raulukaitis of South Windsor; sister, Julie Raulukaitis of West Hartford; parents in-law Diane and Allan Neild of Enfield; brother and sister in-law John and Anna Neild, his band of brothers (Jay, Scott and Kaz) and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Brian will be missed by so many people whose lives he touched and, in many cases, changed.
A memorial service will be celebrated at Browne Funeral Home, 43 Shaker Road, Enfield, CT, 06082 on Saturday March 17th at 1:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at Browne Funeral Home prior to the service between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Hartford Hospital Fund Development c/o Palliative Care Fund, in gratitude for the tremendous hospice care Brian received.
