Hannah "Anne"  Connors (O'Neill)
Hannah “Anne” Connors (O’Neill), born on September 1, 1926, in Cahirscuilibeen, Ballydavid, County Kerry, Ireland, entered into eternal life surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, March 10, 2018. Hannah was predeceased by her husband, John Connors, her parents, Margaret O’Shea and Eugene O’Neill, and her twelve siblings, John O’Neill, Mary Schlichting, Eileen (Lil) Hutchinson, Bridget Grummell, Caitlin (Cait) Verner, Thomas O’Neill, Margaret (Peg) Corcoran, William O’Neill, Michael O’Neil, Norah O’Sullivan, Eugene O’Neill, and Elizabeth McKeown. Hannah immigrated to the United States in 1950 and resided in Hartford/West Hartford until moving to Enfield in 2005.
Hannah was a member of the Local Hotel Union, and worked as a server at several Hartford hotels for more than 40 years. Hannah was loved dearly by all who worked with her and who made her acquaintance during this time. Hannah remembered these times fondly, especially times with her dear friend Peggy O’Connor.
Hannah was indeed a gentle Lady, proud to be Irish, and proud to be from a wonderful large Catholic family. Hannah returned to the Dingle Peninsula every summer, and remained fluent in her native language, Gaelic.
Hannah was a beloved wife, sister, sister-in-law, Aunt, Grand Aunt, Great Grand Aunt, Godmother and friend whose generosity went well beyond her means. Hannah will be sadly missed by many, “Beannacht leat go bhfeicfidh me’ aris thu’ ” “Blessings until I see you again.”
Relatives and friends will gather on Friday March 23, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, Enfield, CT. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday March 24, 2018 with the procession forming at 9:00 a.m. to St. Martha Church, Enfield, CT for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Mt. Saint Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield, CT. Memorial donation in her memory may be made to St. Martha Parish 214 Brainard Rd. Enfield, CT 06082.
