Pearl Page (Mailloux)
Pearl (Mailloux) Page, 86, of Terryville, formerly of Enfield, CT passed peacefully, surrounded by her four children, Tuesday afternoon (April 10, 2018). Born May 27, 1931, in Smithfield, R.I., she was the daughter of the late George and Mary (Provost) Mailloux. A graduate of Hartford Public High School, she lived in Hartford and Enfield most of her life.
Pearl is survived by her brother, George “Bobby” Mailloux and wife Shirley; her daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Michael DeBay, daughter and son-in-law, Donna Lee and Griffin Heslin, son and daughter-in-law, Darren and Joanne Page, and son and daughter-in-law, Derek and Pamela Page; 9 grandchildren – Michael and his wife Stacey, Brett and her husband Alex, Chelsea and her husband Ryan, Brent, Shannon, Merissa and her husband Ryan, Joshua, Dillon and Sara; 4 great grandchildren – Cameron, Zachary, Logan and Rowan. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Janet Scavetta, brother-in-law, Arthur Page and wife Jane, Terri Page, and many dear friends and loving nephews and nieces; most especially Roxanne, with whom she shared meaningful times. She was predeceased by George’s wife, Patricia (Sledesky) Mailloux; her dearest cousin, Pauline Peloquin, her brothers-in-law, Rocco Scavetta, Austin Page and Robert Page.
Employed for 19 years at LEGO Systems, Inc., Enfield, CT., Pearl opened her home to over 30 of the executives’ children from Denmark, Germany, Portugal, Spain and Great Britain. These young adults were either exchange students or interned/worked for six months at LEGO Systems in Enfield and called Pearl’s home their home away from home. Through friendship they remained in contact with her over the years.
She enjoyed family time at the lake and knitting or crocheting many items for family and friends. Her times spent playing cards, and laughing with her friends, attending luncheons and functions at the Senior Center were memorable. Pearl was an ardent viewer of ice skating, the Olympics and all sports, especially the Red Sox. Above all, family came first.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, 28 April, at 10:30 A.M., St. James Church, 12 Franklin St., Danielson, CT. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Maple St., Danielson, CT will follow. We thank the dedicated staff at Meadowbrook of Granby who tenderly cared for our mother during her stay; as well as Masonicare-Hospice of East Hartford, who provided comfort and support to her and our family.
