Obituary for Mary Ann Fleming (Carenza)

Mary Ann (Carenza) Fleming, 80, of Enfield, entered into Eternal Life on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital & Medical Ctr. Hartford, CT. She was the beloved wife of 60 years to John R. Fleming, Jr. Born on June 17, 1938 in the Thompsonville section of Enfield, CT to the late Leon and Mary Carenza. She resided in Enfield most of her life and also in Granby, CT. Having a passion for flowers Mary Ann had owned her own floral business “Floral Designs” in Avon, CT, specializing in wedding floral arrangements for family and friends. She also worked for St. Francis Hospital coordinating holiday and charity events, Christmas was her favorite holiday and was known to have the biggest Christmas Tree in the neighborhood. Above all her greatest passion in life was family and especially loved the grandchildren.
Besides her husband John, Mary Ann is survived by her four children; Mary Lynn (Fleming) Regan & husband Robert of Enfield, John Fleming, III & wife Rose of Bloomfield, Richard Fleming & wife Alison of Phoenix, AZ and Leeann (Fleming) Cerpovicz of Granby, her beloved eight grandchildren; Brooke (Fleming) Brown (Addison), Trisha (Regan) Poremba (Matt), Jack Fleming, Robert Regan, Jr. (Carol), Thomas Fleming, Erika Fleming, Sam Fleming and Alexandria Cerpovicz.
She is also survived by her sister Christine Vella of Enfield and her brother Peter Carenza of North Carolina, along with many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister Katherine Duni and a brother Jack Carenza.
Her family would especially like to thank Companion and Homemakers, especially her caregivers, Sonia and Tashera for their compassionate and loving care.
Mary Ann’s family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, August 30, 2018 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, Enfield. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 31, 2018 with the procession forming at 9:30 am from the funeral home to St. Patrick Church, Enfield for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30 am. Interment will follow in St. Patrick’s King St. Cemetery, Enfield. Memorial Contributions in her memory may be made to Parkinson’s Research, The Michael J. Fox Foundation P.O.
