Michael "Angelo"  Noto
Michael "Angelo” Noto, 93, of Enfield, entered into eternal life on Friday April 28, 2006 at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford. He was the beloved husband of 55 years to the late Angelina (Stabilo) Noto (1993). Mike was born August 7, 1912 in the Thompsonville section of Enfield; son of the late Luigi and Francesca (Liquori) Noto and was a lifetime resident. Prior to his retirement in 1977 Mike was employed by Bigelow Sanford Carpet Co., Thompsonville for 43 years as a jacquard weaver and worked at Holy Family Church, Enfield for 6 years. As a young man he enjoyed dancing, hunting, fishing, bowling and golf. For many years he ran the Penny Pitch concession at the Mt. Carmel Italian Festival. Mike's special passion was his seasonal garden. He would supply friends and neighbors with vegetables throughout the summer. Mike was a devoted parishioner of St. Patrick's Church where he served as an usher for many years. He was a member of the AARP and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Society. After the passing of his beloved wife, Angelina, Mike continued to volunteer at the Parkway Pavilion Healthcare greeting residents, spending time with them and assisting during social functions. Throughout his life he loved to engage virtually anyone he met in conversation. Mike took special pride in his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was the patriarch at holiday and birthday gatherings and shared remembrances from his youth with his grandchildren. For the past few years Mike attended the Enfield Adult Day Care Center where he enjoyed camaraderie with the center's clients and the exceptionally caring staff.
Mike is survived by his loving family; a son, Michael L. Noto and his wife, Frances of Bellerose, NY, a daughter, Frances Marie Paquin of Windham, and a son, Joseph Noto and his wife, Mary Beth of Southington. 11 grandchildren, George & Tammy Paquin, Stephen & Donna Young Paquin, Kevin & Kim Paquin, Kristen, Karen & Kimberly Noto, Gerrit& Jane Toebes, 9 great grandchildren, Zachary, Benjamin, Jonathan, Cole, Bode, Tyler & Sabrina Paquin and Christopher & Ashley Toebes. He is also survived by a sister, Mary Catherine "Katie” Colton of Enfield and many nieces and nephews. Mike was predeceased by his son-in-law, G. Normand Paquin, four brothers, John, Thomas, Joseph & Anthony Noto and two sisters, Santina Curcio and Rose Carville.
Funeral services in celebration of Michael's life will be held on Monday May 1, 2006 at 9am from Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Patrick's Church. Interment will take place in St. Patrick's King St. Cemetery, Enfield. The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday April 30, from 3 to 7pm at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels. Memorial donations in Michael's memory may be made to the Enfield Adult Day Care Center 1A Beech Rd. Enfield, CT 06082.
