Obituary for Francis J. "Frank" Quigley

Frank "Red” Quigley 76, of Enfield passed from this life peacefully on Monday Jan. 8, 2007 at his home. He was born Nov. 24, 1930 in Hartford, CT son of the late Francis J. Quigley, Sr. and Ann (Geaski) Quigley Moncla and step-son of the late Victor Moncla having resided in Enfield for many years and in East Hartford before that. He was a graduate of St. Peter's School, Hartford Class of 1946. Frank served his country honorably from 1948-1949 with the US Navy. Prior to his retirement he was employed by Spencer Turbine for many years and also with Emhart. He coached Women's Softball, and was an avid NY Yankees & NY Giants fan he also enjoyed hanging out at the Country Diner. Frank leaves to cherish fond memories his loving family two daughters; Laurie Edwards of Enfield and Tricia Bratter & her husband, Mark of Windsor, his six beloved grandchildren, Brian Quigley and Lisa Quigley of Hartford, Josh Edwards & his wife, Melissa and Ashley Edwards of Enfield, Jason Bratter and Tyler Bratter of Windsor, along with a great grandchild. He also leaves a sister; Jean Oberg & her husband, Whitey of FL and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents Frank was predeceased by a son; Frank Quigley and a sister; Mary Tajirian. A Memorial Service in celebration of Frank's life will be held on Saturday Jan. 13, 2007 at 11:30am from Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield. His family will receive friends on Saturday prior to the service from 9 to 11:30am. Interment will be at the family's convenience in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford.
