Obituary for Andrew J. "Andy" Niemczyk

Andrew J. "Andy” Niemczyk, 83, of Enfield, beloved husband of 60 years to Blanche "Bunnie” (Fatyga) Niemczyk entered peacefully into eternal life on Sunday May 20, 2007 at his home. Andrew was born on May 21, 1923 in Hartford, CT, a son of the late Julian and Mary (Kamienski) Niemczyk and had resided in Enfield since 1956. He served his country honorably with the US Army during WWII. Most of his working career was spent as a self-employed Upholsterer. Andy was an avid bowler and a Red Sox's fan. He was a member of Holy Family Church, Enfield. Besides his wife Bunnie, Andrew leaves to cherish fond memories a son, Stephen E. Niemczyk of Enfield, a daughter, Andrea Winkler & her husband, Kurt of East Granby, his 5 beloved grandchildren, Jason Niemczyk & his wife, Aimee, Kellie Patterson, Daniel Niemczyk, Shannon Winkler and Michelle Winkler, his 3 loving great-grandchildren, Andrew, Jocelyn & Alina Niemczyk. Andy is also survived by two sisters, Helena Kyc and Mona Endrelunas both of South Windsor along with many nieces & nephews. Andrew was predeceased by six brothers, three sisters and his daughter-in-law, Amber Niemczyk in Dec. 2006. Funeral services for Andrew will be held on Thurs. May 24, 2007 at 9:00am from Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield followed by A Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in Holy Family Church, 23 Simon Rd. Enfield. Interment with military honors will take place in St. Patrick's King St. Cemetery, Enfield. Andy's family will receive relatives and friends on Wed. May 23, from 5:00 to 8:00pm at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in his memory may be made to the Enfield Community Ambulance Fund, P.O. Box 1249 Enfield, CT 06083-1249 or the American Heart Assoc., 2550 US Highway 1 N. Brunswick, NJ 08902-4301.
