Irene T. Zaccaro, entered into eternal life at the age of 84 on Sunday (June 12, 2011). Irene was a loving and devoted wife to her husband and best friend, Leon Zaccaro, for 62 years until his passing in 2009. Irene’s life revolved around her family. As a devoted wife, mother and grandmother Irene attended many of her children’s and grandchildren’s activities and constantly supported their endeavors. Irene leaves many fond memories to be cherished by her son, Douglas Zaccaro and his wife Pamela of Hopkinton, MA and their children; Mairead and Lora Zaccaro, her daughter and best friend Lorraine Dentamaro of Enfield and her children; Anthony, Michael, Theresa Dentamaro and Angela Edwards, her son Warren Zaccaro and his wife Margaret of Minnetonka, MN and their children; Katie, Maribeth and Tim Zaccaro. Along with her loving husband Leon, Irene was also predeceased by her son-in-law Frank Dentamaro and her infant granddaughter Nicol Zaccaro.
Irene was born on November 23, 1926 in Hartford, CT and resided in Manchester and Suffield for the past sixty years. Irene graduated from Bulkeley High School and went on to nurse’s training in Boston. She was a member of St. Adalbert’s Church and a former member of St. James and Assumption Churches in Manchester.
Relatives and friends may gather with Irene’s family on Thursday morning (June 16, 2011) from 9:30 to 10:30 am at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Adalbert’s Church 90 Alden Ave. Enfield at 11:00 am. Interment will take place in St. James Cemetery, Manchester. Irene’s husband Leon left a request to have memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association CT Chapter 2075 Silas Deane Highway, Suite 100, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
