Obituary for Carmelina Maggio

Carmelina (Gaetani) Maggio, 103, entered into eternal peace on Thursday, September 9, 2021 in Agawam. She was born in the Thompsonville section of Enfield on November 24, 1917, the daughter of the late Salvatore and Anna (DeFrancisci) Gaetani and resided in Enfield all of her life. She was predeceased by her husband of sixty-seven years, Ralph on September 23, 2013. She was a graduate of Enfield High School, a lifelong member of St. Patrick’s Church, and was employed at the former Bradlees Department Store. She was an active member of the Enfield Senior Center. Carmelina enjoyed crocheting going on cruises and spending winters in Florida. She is survived by two sons, Louis Maggio of Enfield, Salvatore Maggio of Cross Hill, SC, three grandchildren, Ashley (Maggio) Granade and her husband Dan, Crista (Maggio) Callaghan and her husband Brian, Rafiele Maggio, three great-grandchildren, Katelynn and Allie Fulmer and Luke Callaghan. She was predeceased by her brothers, Charles, Gaetani, Alphonse Gaetani, Bossy Gaetani, James Gaetani, Joseph Gaetani, and a sister, Maria Scalia. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 12 noon at the Browne Memorial Chapels, 43 Shaker Road followed by burial in St. Patrick’s King Street Cemetery.
