Carolyn H. (Olmsted) LaValley, 73, of Suffield, was called home to Heaven to take her seat at the Lord’s Table, on Sunday, August 28, 2022. She was a beloved mother of three son’s and an irreplaceable grandmother to three cherished grandchildren known only to them as Bami. Carolyn had a unique gift of being a raconteur and her unforgettable stories and tales filled many hearts with joy and laughter and left you on the edge of your seat, always wanting to hear more. For 30 years Carolyn owned and operated Noah’s Ark Daycare, where she was known to many as Miss Carolyn. Her legendary snack drawer was known by all far and wide. Her contagious smile and empowering drive to always help others will be missed by all who loved her dearly. Her passion was family. She spent 20 years researching her family history and 15,000 pages later she achieved a life goal that has inspired many about family and love. Her magnetic attraction always drew her to those who needed her wisdom, love and guidance. She was a force to be reckoned with and the Lord has called home one of his greatest Angels.
She is survived by her beloved husband Bernard M. LaValley of Suffield, her three sons and daughter-in-law; Michael a. LaValley and wife Liz LaValley of West Chesterfield, NH, Matthew B. LaValley of Suffield, and Jacob D. LaValley of Windsor Locks, three grandchildren; Bryce M. Johnson of Enfield, Camerynn R. LaValley of Suffield and Evelyn P. LaValley of West Chesterfield, NH, her brother Dean Olmsted and Gail Ward Olmsted of Charleston, MA, a sister Ann Melbourne of Coeur d’Alene, ID, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may gather with her family during calling hours on Thursday, September 1, 2022 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Browne Memorial Chapels, Enfield, CT. The funeral service to celebrate Carolyn’s life will be held on Friday, September 2, 2022 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Bridge St. in Suffield, CT.
