Daniel "Dan" Joseph  Lessard
Daniel Joseph Lessard, of Enfield, entered into eternal life at the age of 64, with his loving family at his side on Wednesday May 7, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford. He was the beloved husband of 41 years to Inta (Jessens) Lessard. Daniel was born on April 28, 1950 in Hartford, CT, the son of the late Louis D., Sr. and Constance (Turgeon) Lessard and was a lifelong resident of Enfield. He was a 1969 graduate of Enfield High School and received his associate degree from Asnuntuck Community College. Dan served his country honorably with the U.S. Coast Guard during the Vietnam War. Prior to retiring Dan was employed with Pratt & Whitney, East Hartford for 30 years. In his leisure time he enjoyed trips to the casino and riding his Harley, he was an avid NY Yankees fan and a “Jokester”. Dan was always available to help a friend or his family in any way he could especially his nieces & nephews.
Besides his wife Inta, Dan is survived by his beloved children; Shannon (Lessard) Edeburn & husband Kevin of McMurray, PA, Keith Lessard & wife Tara of Columbia, SC and Danyel Lessard & fiancé Matthew Mucci of Enfield, his five cherished grandchildren; Mark & Bethany Edeburn, Keith, Jr. “KJ”, Reese & Lincoln Lessard, his siblings; Louis Lessard, Jr. & wife Linda of Suffield, Robert Lessard & Mary Donnelly of Pinellas Park, FL and Cynthia Beard of Winter Park, FL, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Dan was predeceased by two brothers Michael and Peter Lessard.
Relatives and friends may gather with his family during calling hours on Sunday (May 11, 2014) from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield.
Funeral services will be held on Monday (May 12,) with the procession forming at 9:00 a.m. to St. Patrick Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow with military honors in St. Patrick’s King Street Cemetery, Enfield. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in his memory may be made to the American Liver Foundation 127 Washington Ave. North Haven, CT 06473 or the Enfield Fire Dept. 200 Phoenix Ave. Enfield, CT 06082.
