Obituary for Daniel H. DeGray

Daniel H. DeGray, 91 of Enfield, entered into eternal rest on Friday, May 26, 2023.
He was the beloved husband of 68 years to Frances (Romano) DeGray. Born on January 29, 1932 in Enfield, son of the late Daniel and Idella (Cooley) DeGray and was a life-long resident of Enfield. He was a graduate of Enfield H.S. Daniel served his country proudly with the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Prior to retiring in 1994 after 40 years as a Truck Driver, he had been employed with Adley Express, Yellow, Burgmeyer and New Penn, also with Tri State Diesel after he retired.
He was an avid fan of the UCONN women’s basketball team, enjoyed watching his grandsons play for the Fermi H.S. hockey team, following the NY Giants, Detroit Tigers, and the Boston Bruins, during his high school years he played for the Powder Keg baseball team, mostly enjoyed spending time with family especially with the grand and great grandchildren, he also enjoyed having a cold beer in a frosted mug on special occasions.
In addition to his loving wife Frances, he is also survived by his children; Diane Watton & husband Scott of Illinois, Daniel DeGray & wife Dina, Chris DeGray & close friend Kim, and Jodi Morse & husband Scott all of Enfield, his grandchildren; Tara and Christopher Watton, Jamie DeGray, Conner DeGray, Hadley DeGray, Carolyn Murphy & husband Kevin, David Cardaropoli & wife Tia, great grandchildren; Elizabeth and Lily Murphy, Ivy and Benjamin Cardaropoli, Kaden, and Jonathan, Jace and Gio. Daniel was predeceased by his parents, a grandson DJ, a brother John, and his sisters Ruth, Betty and Hazel.
Relatives and friend may join the family during calling hours on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Browne Memorial Chapels, Enfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at 11:00 am in St. Patrick Church (St. Jeanne Jugan Parish) Enfield (Please go directly to the church).
Burial will follow with military honors in St. Patrick’s King Street Cemetery, Enfield. The family has requested memorial donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
