David C. Forsyth, 87, passed away on Friday, April 21, 2023. David was born in Northampton, Massachusetts in 1935. A son of the late David C. and Marion (MacCutcheon) Forsyth. He graduated from Enfield High School in 1955, David enlisted in the U.S. army and served in France. He married his wife Nina in 1961, who he referred to as the love of his life for the last 61 years. They were blessed with three children Michael, Karen, and Todd. David worked as a captain for the town of Longmeadow Fire Department for 29 years. David was an avid sailor, skier, golfer, and an exceptional gardener. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. David was predeceased by his son Todd. He is survived by his wife Nina Forsyth, his son Michael (Colleen) Forsyth, his daughter Karen Barone, grandchildren Nicky (Candice) Barone, Melinda Kilty, Alyssa Barone, Jennie Forsyth, and Owen Forsyth, and two new additions that David was excited about, his great-grandchildren Luca and Isla. He will be greatly missed by his family for his love and devotion. We’ll miss you, Papa.
Relatives and friends may gather with his family on Thursday, April 27, 2023 from 9:00 to 11:00 am at Browne Memorial Chapels, Enfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am in St. Mary’s Church, Longmeadow, MA. Interment will take place in the Massachusetts Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Agawam, MA.
