Obituary for Debbie D. George

Deborah George (Debbie) passed away on February 18th, 2023 at Hartford Hospital due to health complications. She was comforted by her family and friends during this endeavor.
Deborah was preceded by her parents Marcia and Theodore George and her sister Theodora.
She is survived by her sisters Roberta, Mildred, Delores (partner Gary), Regina and her brothers Roosevelt, Douglas, Darian. 10 Nieces and Nephews, 16 Grand Nieces and Nephews and one Great niece. Along, with many cousins whom she shared many great memories with.
Debbie lived a life of Hope. What she could not complete today, she was hopeful that she could complete it tomorrow. Debbie enjoyed her plants, yarn crafting, puzzles, nature and always enjoyed her stays at the beach. She loved the ocean! She cherished her travels, concerts, and parades with her friend Barbara and her predeceased friend Kathy. She always looked forward to gatherings with her life-long friends from French Town, Thompsonville and Thistle Lane. Debbie touched the lives of many people in the community in which she lived and of course their pets, which she enjoyed taking for walks.
She appreciated all of the supportive services who helped her navigate her life. Debbie’s compassion and kindness was masked by her tough as nail personality. Debbie enjoyed collecting Dream Catcher where she would hold some of her dreams. Relatives and friends may gather with her family on Friday, March 3, 2023 from 11 am to 1 pm at Browne Memorial Chapels, Enfield for a time of sharing memories. In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorial donations be made to the American Diabetes Assoc., P.O. Box 15829 Arlington, VA 22215 or the American Heart Assoc., P.O. Box 840692 Dallas, TX 75284-0692.

Afterglow
I’d like the memory of me to be a happy one.
I’d like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done.
I’d like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways,
Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.
I’d like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun;
Of happy memories that I leave when life is done.
