Doris (Daunais) Scalia, 88, of Enfield, entered into Eternal Rest on Sunday, October 21, 2018. Doris was born on June 11, 1930 in West Springfield, MA, to the late Joseph O. and Marie L. (Duchaine) Daunais. She resided in Enfield for 70 years. Doris retired from Hallmark Cards, Inc and was a member of the 25 year and retirees club. In her younger days she enjoyed roller skating, as well as playing bingo and crocheting.
Doris is survived by her four children, Thomas Scalia of Jacksonville, FL, Lillian Crouser & David Scarbeau of Hampden, MA, Charlotte Scalia & Michael Loewel of Punta Gorda, FL and Dorie & Dan Justice of Enfield, her six beloved grandchildren, David, Kym, Jordan, Daniel, Rachel and Aaron, four cherished great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents Doris was predeceased by a son Charles and seven brothers & sisters.
Doris’s family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Chapels. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 25, 2018 with a Mass of Christian Burial for Doris at 10:00 a.m. at St. Raymond of Penafort Parish (St. Patrick Church, 64 Pearl St. Enfield, CT). Burial will be at the convenience of the family in St. Patrick’s Old Cemetery, Enfield, CT. Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to Octagon Wildlife Sanctuary, 41660 Horseshoe Rd. Punta Gorda, FL 33950.
