Edmund J. Garrett, Jr., 65, of Windsor Locks, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, October 25, 2022. He was the beloved husband of 42 years to Karen (Potter) Garrett. Born on June 6, 1957 in Hartford, CT. Ed was a son of the late Edmund J. Sr, and Harriett (Denton) Garrett. He had resided in Windsor Locks for the past 39 years. Ed was a graduate of Enrico Fermi H.S. Enfield. Prior to retiring in 2004 he was employed with Hamilton Standard/Sunstrand for 24 years. In his leisure time he enjoyed visiting the coast of Maine, drives in his 1971 Corvette Sting Ray, and spending time with his grandson Jackie. He was a member of the Gensi-Viola Post 36 American Legion, Windsor Locks.
In addition to his wife Karen, Ed is survived by his two loving daughters and sons-in-law, Mandy & Jack McAnulty of Somers and Marcy & Matt Smith of East Berlin, and his cherished grandson, Jackie. He also is survived by his siblings; Howard Blythe (Cheryl) of Enfield, Steven Garrett (Jamie) of FL, Debbie Mayville (Donny) of VT, Diana Sheehan of Stafford, Vicki Barrett of Enfield, and Darlene Marturano of E. Windsor. His in-laws Linda Alexander of Enfield, and Rick Potter (Kathy) of Enfield, Helen Varner (Buddy) of E. Hartford, and Bob Battestini of W. Hartford. Ed was predeceased by his brothers-in-law, Phil Barrett, and Chris Alexander and a sister-in-law Hazel Battestini.
Services for Ed will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2022 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm followed by military honors and Prayer Service at Browne Memorial Chapels, Enfield. Interment will be private.
