Edward H. Reid, 87, of Enfield, beloved husband of the late Elizabeth (Fortune) Reid for 59 years, passed away Monday, October 29, 2018 at Parkway Pavilion, Enfield, CT. Born July 1, 1931, he was the son of the late Henry E. and Edna (Charbonneau) Reid. Prior to retiring Ed had been employed at Hamilton Standard for 37 years and was a member of the Hamilton Standard Retirement Club. A loving father and grandfather, Ed took great pleasure in spending time with his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, bingo, the casino and traveling.

Ed leaves his sons, Edward Reid, Jr. and wife Raven of Palm Coast, FL and Thomas Reid and wife Patricia of Enfield, CT; four grandchildren, Dallas Reid and wife Elizabeth of Ellington, CT, Ashley Reid and fiancée Jason Plamondon, of Enfield, CT, Shane Reid of Altamonte Springs, FL and Brittany Reid of Enfield, CT. He also leaves his sister, Barbara Bates and husband Gordon of Ashland, MA, and his brothers, Robert Reid and wife Helen of E. Hartford, CT and James Reid and wife Mary Beth of Manchester, CT along with many nieces and nephews. Ed’s family would like to thank the staff at Parkway Pavilion for the wonderful care he was given.
Relatives and friends may join the family for visiting hours Friday, November 2 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Chapels, 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield. A funeral home service will be held Saturday, November 3 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Patrick King Street Cemetery.
