Obituary for Eleanor M. Chamberlain (Trapanese)

Eleanor M. (Trapanese) Chamberlain, 87, of Windsor Locks and formerly of Enfield, entered into Eternal Life on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at the Suffield House. She was the beloved wife of 60 years to the late Rudolph “Rudy” C. Chamberlain who was her soul mate until his passing on July 26, 2018. They have been reunited again in Heaven. Born on July 14, 1931 in the Thompsonville section of Enfield, daughter of the late Charles and Jenny (Todaro) Trapanese. She resided in Enfield most of her life and in Windsor Locks for the past year and a half. Eleanor worked for many years for Browne Furniture Store in Thompsonville.
She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, who dedicated her life to caring for her family and home. She enjoyed the outdoors especially her flowers and garden. She loved animals all her life, having dogs, cats, birds, and even a pet goat when she was young. She also volunteered at St. Joseph’s Residence, Little Sisters of the Poor.
Eleanor is survived by her daughter Donna Carnelli & husband Edward of Vernon, and her son Mark Chamberlain & wife Donna of Suffield, her two beloved granddaughters Kara Chamberlain and Kristi Chamberlain, a sister-in-law Henrietta Trapanese of Enfield, along with many nieces and nephews. Eleanor will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her siblings Mary Trapanese, Florence Trapanese, Sam and wife Nancy Trapanese, Charlie Trapanese, William Trapanese, and Humbert and wife Norma Trapanese.
Eleanor’s family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, Oct. 7, 2018 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Chapels, Enfield. Funeral services will be held on Monday, Oct. 8, 2018 with the procession forming at 10:00 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Patrick Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Patrick’s King St. Cemetery, Enfield.
