Elizabeth “Beth” Martin, 73, of Windsor Locks and formerly of Enfield, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at home. Born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, to the late Charles & Margaret (Weiss) Hartwell. She lived in the Enfield/Windsor Locks community for the last 48 years. Beth retired after 35 years as a cook for Enfield Social Services. A dedicated and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt, she enjoyed spending time with them and friends.
In addition to her husband of 52 years Bruce, she also leaves sons, Bryce (Kimberly) and Drew (Marianne), her grandchildren Greyson, Oliver and Athena, her sister Susan (Greg) McDowell, a brothers-in-law Jeffrey (Cathleen), Wallace Balcom, sisters-in-law Nancy (Douglas) Deveney, and Martha Hartwell, and close friends Laura Bourgeois and Gail Leonard. She was also predeceased by a sister Margaret Balcom and brother Charles Hartwell.
A Memorial Service for Beth will take place at 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at the United Methodist Church of Enfield, 41 Brainard Rd. Enfield. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in her memory may be made to the Windsor Locks Lions Ambulance Fund, or UMC-Enfield which will support out-reach programs that she was involved with.
