Eugene Charles Lozier of Fort Kent, Maine died peacefully in his sleep on the morning of November 5th, 2022 in his home in Enfield, Connecticut. He is survived by his son and daughter in law Brian and Cecilia Lozier and granddaughter Catherine of Enfield, Connecticut. He was predeceased by his parents Honoré and Roseanna Lozier. He was the youngest of 20 children and survived by his sister, Nilda, and two brothers Norman and Junior. As a youth, he was part of a family band with his siblings playing his personalized accordion. He learned French growing up in northern Maine and spoke it fluently. He was fond of dogs and proud of all the commands that he would teach them. For many years he suffered from Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis eventually requiring oxygen therapy. He will be missed terribly by friends and family but particularly by his son Brian who was able to honor the promise he made to keep his dad at home surrounded by family as he was getting older. We ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his name to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
Relatives and friends may gather with his family during calling hours on Friday, November 11, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Browne Memorial Chapels, Enfield. A Prayer service at the funeral home will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at 11am. Interment will in the Spring in Ft. Kent, Maine.
